if your virtual tour servers were to fail?
Answer: We use a virtual tour technology that relies on a series of back
up servers located in multiple locations throughout the USA. If one
server were to fail, the next available back up server would kick in.
This is called mirroring and the system is designed to ensure that the
virtual tours experience maximum up time. [top]
20. Question: What is the speed of the links into
your network, and how many connections do you have?
Answer: We use a virtual tour technology that relies on four T1 lines.
There are two main Mirror sites on both ends of the country to help
cover the growing tour database even better. Our tours are very small
and it is not streaming video so super computers are not required for
serving them up after we store the tour online. You could actually fit
two entire tours on a floppy disk! Many end users are still on dial up
and can move from scene to scene every 20-30 seconds. [top]
